The Iowa Wine Growers Association presented awards to several industry members who have been integral to the success of the wine and grape industry in Iowa and were recently announced at the 2022 Iowa Wine Awards Social.

The Iowa Wine Growers Association has announced the list of award nominees for the upcoming Iowa Wine Awards recognition event.

Small fruit and veggie crop growers, winemakers and other specialty crop producers will have the opportunity to gather, learn and network once again as the Iowa Specialty Producers Conference is back in person at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, Iowa February 9th and 10th, 2022.

The four “Best of Show” Iowa wines were selected to be featured in Grandfather’s Barn at the Iowa Wine Experience throughout the duration of the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa Wine Growers Association is hosting the first ever Iowa Wine Festival Series next month featuring local wines, local foods and live local music. The Festival Series highlights the beauty of all things LOCAL; wine, food and music together, in the eastern and central/western regions of Iowa.

Judges handed out 149 awards to Iowa wines, determined four Best of Show winners and a Governor’s Cup Trophy recipient for 2020.

The Iowa Wine Growers Association (IWGA) has added a new Vineyard Manager track to their Registered Apprenticeship Program. The Vineyard Manager (Agricultural Service Worker) program is designed for employees to “learn while they earn” how to oversee and maintain a quality vineyard. This program joins the already established Cellar Worker and Wine Maker tracks that have been available since the launch of the program in 2016.

The Iowa Specialty Producers Conference is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 19-20, 2021. This second joint gathering of the Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and the Iowa Wine Growers Association will take place entirely online. In addition. the Iowa Wine Growers Association is hosting a virtual Wine Marketing Workshop on Thursday, January 21, 2021 for industry members.
