Raise a Glass to Our Teachers!

The first week in May is Teacher Appreciation Week and Tuesday, May 3rd is Teacher Appreciation Day! We’d like to celebrate all of the amazing teachers who are helping shape our children’s future and the future of our world (whether it feels like that at 3:30 each day or not!) by recognizing their accomplishments this school year.

Cheers to Teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week

Our teachers have accomplished a lot this school year! So far, we’ve estimated the following figures*:

  • 6,428 - Math papers graded

  • 542 - Times they’ve comforted a child with a boo-boo

  • 29 - Recess duties taken for a colleague in need

  • 108 - Lunches skipped to catch up on classwork

  • 291 - Minutes spent shopping the Target Dollar Spot for classroom goodies (with their own money!)

  • Countless - Bottles of wine consumed

* All data is approximate and completely nonsensical (though probably fairly accurate!) .

Good teacher quote

Truthfully, every day should be teacher (and paraeducator!) appreciation day, so we’d like to raise a glass of local Iowa wine to celebrate our classroom heroes! Teachers have spent this entire year working tirelessly for our children and it’s time we all celebrate that the end of the school year is nearing a close and summer break is on the horizon.

Parents - have your child handwrite a note of thanks to their teacher this week and if you can, include a small gift - hand soap, candy, a gift card or even a bottle of local wine (trust us - they’ll appreciate it!).

Teachers - We encourage you to take a minute for yourself and recognize your accomplishments. Treat yourself to a glass of wine, an afternoon with friends or even a weekend getaway or staycation!

Don’t worry, we can help educate YOU on wine 101, which wines are best for springtime patio sippin’ or how to hit the trails and discover the best that Iowa’s wineries have to offer! We encourage you to sip & stay awhile as we raise a glass in celebration of our teachers this month.
